Niranjan Shankar is a software engineer on the Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) Traffic Team, where he is driving feature development and integration for the Istio-based service mesh add-on for AKS, and also contributes to the Istio open-source project. He was formerly a member of the Azure Container Upstream team, where he worked on the Open Service Mesh (OSM) project and led the integration with OSM on Azure-Arc.

He is interested in cloud computing, Kubernetes, and zero-trust security.
